About George Fetty
George has been turning wrenches since he was old
enough to carry his dad's tool box.
His love affair with motorcycles
started with dirt bikes (a Honda 100 Enduro which he NEVER rode on
the street - yeah right!) when he was 9 - and with a mechanic
father, learned how to repair his own ride so he wouldn't miss out
on any fun!
In 1976 he bought a Suzuki GS1000. He rode that until '86 when
he bought his first Harley. A brand new, fresh off the showroom
floor, FXRT. His next purchase was a 1995 FLHTC. In 2007, a
beautiful FLHX made it's way into the Fetty stable.
After he graduated from high school in La Mirada in 1975, he went to
the Arizona Automotive Institute and completed training in every
aspect of vehicle diagnosis and repair.
He spent the next 11+ years working at various Ford Dealerships in
southern California until he ended up at Fiesta Ford in Indio in
1987.
He was eventually promoted to Assistant Service Manager. He left
Fiesta Ford in 2003 when he and Halle opened Valley V-Twin in
Cathedral City.
Throughout his long history with
bikes, and with all the mechanical training (both in the past and ongoing), he
learned how to take care of what he rides & drives (note how long he kept each
of his bikes!!). He'll treat your treasured ride the same way.
Engine modifications, maintenance,
tires, diagnostics, and repairs are just a part of what he does, but George's
greatest strength in the shop is how he relates to you. He takes the time
to listen to what you have in mind and then he'll make suggestions. More often
than not, you'll be surprised that you don't have to fork out big bucks to get
the performance you want!
